Recreation

This division provides fundamental experiences for people of all abilities, with an emphasis on offering the benefits of therapeutic inclusive activities to individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities, helping them to develop to their full potential.  We strongly advocate the benefits of sport and recreation, not only for the physical, but the positive impact on the mental and emotional well being of the community.

Social bonds are improved when we work together as a team, and when individuals with disabilities are actively engaged in recreation activities.  The Beacon Achievement Center promotes social bonds by uniting clients, encouraging cultural sensitivity, and supporting individuals with disabilities.  These varied recreational opportunities make physical activity interesting, enjoyable, and encourage life-long fitness habits. The many documented health benefits of staying active include reduced obesity, a diminished risk of disease, an enhanced immune system and most importantly, increased life expectancy.
