Social Skill Groups
Our Social Skills Groups are small groups of school aged children led by an adult who teaches the kids how to interact appropriately with others their age. Social groups are helpful in teaching kids to be considerate of other people, and learning to control their own emotions. We create activities to help children learn conversational, friendship and problem-solving skills.
At the Beacon Achievement Center, our Social Skill Groups help children build school readiness skills, including coping with anger and emotion regulation. We teach them how to follow directions and make friends through games, arts and crafts, sports, and other fun activities with Behavioral Management. We also have a Volunteers and Mentors, that help increase social interactions between children and their peers with a Buddy Skills Package.
